Mission Statement & History

  • To have a strong, unifying impact on our community by providing and promoting quality faith-based family-oriented programming that inspires, encourages, uplifts and entertains our audience.
  • To encourage, support and promote the development of Canadian Christian talent.
STATEMENT OF FAITH We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative word, revealing:  Jesus Christ as God’s Son; the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe that man is created in God’s image; that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ; that although all men and women have sinned and come short of God’s glory,  God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ; that repentance, faith, love and obedience are proper responses to God’s grace toward us; that we are created in Jesus Christ for good works, to undo the works of Satan; and are called to loving patience not tolerance, unity not union, and mutual respect, not compromise as we live our lives growing in His grace, and work to bring the Good News to everyone.

History

Sound of Faith Broadcasting Inc., a not-for-profit organization, was quietly born in 1994 when a group of people began meeting in a church basement in Woodstock with a dream of bringing Christian radio into Southwestern Ontario. CHJX London went on the air in the fall of 2003 as Grace FM on 105.9 with only 10 watts of power.  CHJX was eventually approved by the CRTC to change to the new frequency of 99.9 with 500 watts.  This change was implemented on August 31, 2012.  In September 2012, the station was re-branded as Faith FM 99.9 London. On August 1, 2014, Faith FM moved to new studios at 120 Wellington Street, after several years at the Youth For Christ Centre on Adelaide Street.
